Elmo Gonzales

Assistant Coach


Elmo M. Gonzales Jr. was born in Guam, U.S.A and moved to Florida where he attended Bishop Kenny High School. While at Kenny, he played both basketball (under Joe Pichardo and Lou Pereira) and baseball (under Bob West). After graduating,  Elmo attended the University of North Florida, where he played basketball under Sidney Green. While there he and current Mandarin boys coach, George McCleod became teammates. In the fall of 1999, Elmo received his Bachelors of Science degree in Health majoring in Exercise Science. Coach Elmo began his coaching career at Christ the King Catholic Grade School coaching the girls and boys programs, where he still is to this day. In the fall of 2014, Coach Elmo became the Junior Varsity Girls Head coach and Varsity assistant at Episcopal School of Jacksonville. Coach Elmo currently teaches Science and P.E. and is the Athletic Director for Resurrection Catholic School. Coach Elmo also runs Raven Basketball, LLC, which focuses on player and team development. Coach Gonzales is in his inagural season at mandarin High School. He is supported by his lovely wife, Emily Gonzales
